Jay and I are going to Lina's today for chit-chat. We're gonna make buenuellos (cheese bread which is "fried") for snack and Lina and I will discuss the invitations for Antonio's birthday. She asked whether I could help in making/designing the greeting cards, of course I said yes! So far I have 2 ideas in my head as to how to go about with the design.

a) When Antonio's asleep, have his palm print done on the cover of the cards. Then the letterings can say something like "Hi! AJ here! You are invited to etc..."

b) Lina was thinking of having an Elmo themed party, so I was thinking that we could cut a die-cut red head, then stick white oblongs for the eye-white, black dots for the eyeballs, orange nose, mouth, etc and the words could go like "Hi, you are invited to AJ's Elmo party!" And where the head-piece goes on the card, I was thinking of separating the pieces with a thin sponge. To create that 3D look.

Anyway we'll see how it goes.

PS-AJ stands for Antonio Jose. His full name is Antonio Jose Lopez. Cool eh? Ya I know Lopez has become rather 'generic'.. but what to do? Hahaa!

Went to Safeway and got some Gatorade for him. He's loosing his liquids, so a sports drink is ideal. He sweated quite a bit in bed, so had a fresh shirt on him, and he's feeling much better now. *phew*

Hmm, I can't wait to go to the PO Box tomorrow. Am expecting an Elmo fabric for baby Antonio's 1st birthday quilt (he loves Elmo). That reminds me... That's the fifth quilt in queue. Oh my gosh I'm killing myself.

Have to finish Dad's quilt soon. Been putting that off because I am no good in sewing the batting... and have been working on three other quilts. Two for myself and one for Marmie. The Marmie one was meant for Mother's Day.. but she kept insisting she didn't want anything so I'm just taking my time piecing her quilt. Besides, it's a difficult one her piece. Sooo many triangles. DIE. And the colours I picked has a lotta pink (I chose a Hawaiian theme) so my eyes get floozy after a while.

Dad's quilt is actually done on the topside (isn't that right Chia Ying and Gloria?).. but I still have to finish it up so I can pack and send it off for his birthday next month. ARGH. I hate datelines.

Oh the two quilts that I'm making, I'm going to try something new and make it a reversible quilt! Saw it on Simply Quilts and thought I could do that for the 2 quilts I'm making! They are totally identical, except they have different colours. One is red and the other's navy. The fabrics are exactly the same as well, just that the red one is in red, and the navy's in navy. I'll have the pics posted when they're done. Seeing that I'm in the online-mood, it won't be finished anytime soon!

So ok. Will have to do them in this sequence:
a) Dad's
b) Antonio's
c) My red
d) My navy
e) Marmie's (prolly give it to her on her birthday. It's in Oct so nooo rush! Hhaaa!)

Back [Apr. 9th, 2005|03:32 pm]
[mood | calm]

Yes, am back again after a week break from Mom and Dad's visit. Went to a lotta places and did a lotta stuff. Ying, if you're reading this, I gotta let you know we're not sure whether we're going to Adelaide yet. Mom is pretty keen but Old Bean says he wants to see all of Melbourne. So at this point, seems like we won't make it to Adelaide this time.

Got an email from Father Andy Lee on his experience in paying his last respect to the late Pope. He saw the Pope's body, and he was among the many people outside praying when the Vatican announced that the Pope has passed.

I watched the funeral on TV last night, very intriguing and rather touching when they played small shots of the late Pope's visit to places and how everyone just loved him. Tonight I'll be glued to the TV set for Charles' and Camilla's wedding.

PS-Hot day today.

[mood | blah]

Back from Philip Island. It was nice to spend time with our friends, but it was too boring out there. The best part was the chatting-ha-ha part, but when we had nothing to do and watched DVDs, that was not very nice. I don't enjoy watching DVDs, not sure why... movies on the other hand are fine. :)

My folks are coming over this Friday and boy I gotta get ready. I have to get some stuffs like bedroom slippers, etc for them and have to make sure the lawn is mowed, etc. I have to start my list tomorrow. Feeling pretty "blueh" at the mo... Hope everyone else feels great (not blueh at all). :D

[mood | cheerful]

Back from the lib. Did some grocery shopping too! *Amor* is going to drown from 3 bottles of cordials and a pack-of-ten of ice lemon tea! HIAK! I got the Akira 1 and MAN there is a whole lotta Akira books man. I saw all the way up to Akira 7.

My Quilting book on ebay would arrive today (yay yay yayyy) from Sydney! Can't wait to check the book out!

A.S.M.O.L. mentioned a book by Roald Dahl (my fav. author for kiddy books!) which is called Switch Bitch. Apparently it's humour, but of a sexual nature. *one eyebrow goes up* Checked on Dymocks and it's $21. A.S.M.O.L., is this expensive?

There's also the Da Vinci code, which I think if I do have it Marmie will wanna pinjam to read. Marmie is *amor*'s mom. :D She mentioned that Da Vinci was a smarty-pants back in those days and he was the brain behind "technologies" such as drawing water from the ground (wells) and flying (planes). She also said that she saw on the papers that the Vatican isn't too happy about the book, due to some controversy. Anyway, nevertheless, I wanna check it out manz! The one by Dan Brown is selling for $16 at Dymocks. Cheap ho? Bestseller thim.

Good morning world! [Mar. 24th, 2005|08:56 am]
[mood | relaxed]

Wow, tomorrow onwards would be the long weekend. I like it because that means *amor* gets paid double (or is it triple?), but hate it because most stores, etc would be closed. I think.. Correct me if I'm wrong. Am going to make full use of today.

Gonna watch my repeat-dose of Simply Quilts. Watched it last night but mind was not really following what the lady said. She had some really great tips so am gonna watch the repeat half an hour from now. The show is on quilting triangles, and I think it's great because I made some myself last year and there were a lotta 'lubangs' at the joints, and she just explained how to prevent that! http://www.hgtv.com/hgtv/cr_quilting_blocks/article/0,,HGTV_3299_1392405,00.html

I love that show, really do, been learning a lot of "oh I see" facts through it. Am planning to make lots of projects (now that it's possible to make difficult ones almost flawless). But Mom and Dad are coming for their 2-week visit soon and I loathe having to start a project halfway and let it "hang".

So after Simply Quilts, am going to the local library to return/borrow some books. Am going to get Akira Part 1 for *amor*. Very cool local library cos they stock original anime-cartoon books!

By the way, am I able to change my username, or do I have to create another one?

Hi bloggy world, I'm finally on... much to A.S.M.O.L's glee, who has been encouraging me to start my own blog but I just don't find the motivation to do so. Thanks to KeyMistress for giving me that final "push", so now it's blogginning for me! Will *start* yapping tomorrow.. Night all!
